Things to know

Must be 16+ to ride an e-bike and comfortable biking. Children under 13 require a private trip and must share a tandem kayak with an adult; kids 8 and under ride in a bike trailer. All paddlers should be physically fit and able to swim with a life vest.

Popoi‘a Islet and the Mokulua Islets are part of Hawai‘i’s State Wildlife Sanctuary System and are managed by the Division of Forestry and Wildlife to protect native species and support ecosystem recovery. Visitors must follow all State Wildlife Sanctuary Rules, which include staying only in areas below the high-water mark and respecting all access restrictions. The sanctuaries prohibit fires, dogs, pets, camping, tents, tarps, or any type of structure at all times.
