Madison's food tours consistently deliver exceptional experiences thanks to passionate guides who clearly love their city. Bart, Fernando, Miranda, Levi, and Shar all get praised by name for being knowledgeable, engaging, and making guests feel like they're exploring the city with a friend rather than following a scripted tour. The guides share fascinating historical tidbits about Madison and the Capitol area while keeping conversations flowing naturally with the group. The food itself hits the mark across different tour options. Guests rave about diverse stops like Monsoon Siam's Thai spring rolls and unique wings at Madison's, with typically five varied locations per tour. Walking distances stay manageable (around 10 minutes between stops), and the tours run smoothly even in winter weather. The guides show real flexibility too – when one restaurant unexpectedly closed, the guide quickly arranged an alternative that became a guest's favorite stop. The value stands out as impressive, with thoughtful coordination that gets groups in and out of restaurants seamlessly. Whether you choose the Atwood Brew & Chew, Capitol tour, Bike n' Bites, or Willy Street Global Eats, you're in for great food and genuine local insight.
On a brisk April afternoon our tour guide Miranda introduced us to a wide variety of flavors and treats along Atwood Street. Vegan options were easily accommodated, even vegan truffles! She shared interesting stories about the local restaurant owner collective and historic buildings in the neighborhood during the walks from one location to the other. She made us feel comfortable and arranged a tasty mix of options, from tacos to walnut burgers to spicy Thai and a final ice cream stop where we sat outside by the patio fire pit. Highly recommend this experience if you’re in Madison!
