Explore Lido Key’s mangrove tunnels with included gear, map, and a brief lesson
4 hrs
Kayak or paddleboard, Map
Rent a kayak or paddleboard for a 4-hour self-guided paddle through the mangrove tunnels of Lido Key. Launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park and explore calm, well-marked trails with chances to spot dolphins, manatees, and birds.
Single kayaks are best for individuals aged 12+. Weight limits: single up to 240 lbs; tandem combined up to 350 lbs. Rentals are 4 hours and reservations are required.
Are reservations required?
Yes. Reservations are required for all paddleboard and kayak rentals.
What is included?
Rental includes the vessel, paddle(s), U.S. Coast Guard approved life vest(s), dry storage, a brief safety orientation, and a map of the paddling area.
Should I choose a single or tandem kayak?
Single kayaks offer independence. Tandems require teamwork and suit a less experienced or easily tired paddler paired with a stronger one.
What will we see?
You may see bottlenose dolphins, manatees, fishes, seahorses, sea stars, conchs, crabs, and many birds. There are no alligators in these marine habitats.
Will I get wet?
Not necessarily, but expect some splashes. Tipping is uncommon; if it happens, you’ll be helped back into your kayak.
Operator may cancel due to weather or unforeseen circumstances; you will receive a full refund. Guest cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled activity for a full refund. No-shows are charged in full.

We had a fantastic time kayaking on a Happy Paddler guided tour! Don't hesitate - book your spot now (yes, really!) Our guide, Jeff was helpful, thoughtful, and funny. He also easily rebooked us when the weather wasn't in our favor. We saw a ton of birds and fish, and had the pleasure of watching a mother dolphin teaching her baby how to hunt. We made friends with cormorants and had a good time exploring the beach and sandbar. We didn't get lucky enough to see a manatee, but maybe next time, Longbay is beautiful - we'll be back!
