Step aboard the 100-ft Prince Kuhio, a lovingly restored vessel honoring Hawaii’s beloved Prince Jonah Kūhiō. From spacious open-air decks to cozy dining salons, our local captain and crew share Waikiki’s glittering shoreline whil...
Prince Kuhio's sunset dinner cruise consistently wins over guests with its intimate atmosphere and surprisingly excellent food. The chef prepares fresh, plated meals right on board, with the mahi mahi and beef short ribs earning particular praise for quality that rivals upscale restaurants. Captain Tracy and the crew get frequent mentions for being welcoming and attentive, creating a relaxed vibe on the smaller boat that feels more personal than larger dinner cruises. Guests love the views of Diamond Head and Waikiki's coastline at sunset, and Friday cruises include fireworks over the water as a bonus. There's a significant caveat about their sunrise breakfast cruise. Multiple guests report last-minute cancellations with minimal communication, and at least one mentions difficulty getting refunds. The dinner cruise seems to be their strong suit and operates much more reliably. If you're set on a breakfast experience, you might want to reach out directly first, but the sunset dinner cruise appears to be a genuinely special experience that regularly exceeds expectations.
We booked a sunset/fireworks cruise with this company for our honeymoon. Leading up to the event, we got confirmation texts and messages about our upcoming trip. However once we got to where we were supposed to meet, the dock was empty. There was no one else around either, so we figured something was up. Based on reviews across other sites, this company went out of business and never notified us. Even though their site is still up and there are third party booking sites advertising their services, it doesn’t seem like they still have any events. Calling and emailing them gave no responses so unfortunately we have to get reimbursement from the bank since we couldn’t go through them. We even got an automated follow-up email thanking us for “joining” them on the cruise. So if you’re looking for a cruise or any type of excursion with Prince Kuhio Tours, avoid them since they didn’t bother to take down their website or notify anyone that they’re no longer in operation.
