Canoe Outpost – Little Manatee River invites you to trade screens for sunshine and drift through one of Florida’s most untouched Gulf Coast waterways. Their easy-going, veteran crew outfits everything from self-guided kayak floats...
This outfitter has built a loyal following thanks to consistently friendly staff and smooth operations from check-in through pickup. The kayaking and canoeing trips down the river deliver exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful paddling under shaded canopy, regular wildlife sightings including manatees, gators, turtles, and birds, and flexible return times with regular shuttle pickups. Several reviewers mention accommodating last-minute bookings and helpful service that makes the whole experience feel effortless. Beyond day trips, they offer camping and surprisingly charming accommodations, with one couple raving about a newly remodeled apartment that felt like a treehouse retreat. The grounds stay well-maintained, and the on-site store stocks those essential snacks and drinks you'll definitely want after a few hours on the water. One practical tip from experienced paddlers: if you're going in summer heat, start early in the morning. The overall vibe is relaxed and family-friendly, drawing everyone from solo adventurers to groups of ten looking for an authentic Florida river experience without any pretense.
It can get very crowded but it is very much so still a very quiet campsite. Love the outdoor showers and the bathrooms were clean as well. Washer and dryers are available on site. Overall not a bad place to camp out
