Bike & View invites you to experience San Francisco the way locals love best—on two wheels. Just steps from the Crissy Field bike path, the shop launches riders onto a breathtaking route to the Golden Gate Bridge and beyond. Choos...
Most travelers have good experiences here, particularly praising staff members like Mike, Ash, and Pedro for being helpful and friendly. The bikes themselves get the job done for classic San Francisco rides—across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and back via ferry. Several happy customers rented electric bikes and found them well worth it for tackling the city's notorious hills. However, there are some inconsistencies worth noting. A few visitors received older bikes that weren't ideal for San Francisco's challenging terrain, especially the standard 7-speed models. More concerning, one group arrived to find the shop unexpectedly closed despite having a confirmed reservation. Customer service experiences vary quite a bit—while many found staff friendly and accommodating (even extending return times without penalty), others described encounters as unhelpful or rude. The shop's 6pm closing time with strict late fees is also something to plan around carefully. Overall, it's a mixed bag that works well for many but has some reliability concerns.
We had no troubles with the bikes and would highly recommend Bike and View. We rented the bike with electric assist and had plenty of battery for the whole trip. Approximately 1 hour of total biking. A good experience and would recommend this to our friends! There is a secure bike parking area by the Joinery at Sausalito.
